Southern Kaduna Peoples’ Union, SOKAPU has appealed to the federal government to urgently take over the fight against the recurring killings in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna state from the state government.
National President of SOKAPU, Hon. Jonathan Asake made the call at the distribution of relief materials at Rimau and Maraban Kajuru IDP camps in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
Hon. Asake who described the condition of the IDPs as unfortunate asked the federal government to send troops to put an end to the killings so the residents can farm as the the raining season settles.
While appreciating the Southern Kaduna Poeples Union for their continuous support, Chairman of Rimau IDP camp, Mr Samaila Sakani called on the internally displaced persons to resist the urge to retaliate and to remain law abiding.
One of the beneficiaries, Iliya Tanko commended SOKAPU for being compassionate and narrated how they arrowly escaped death from the numerous attacks from gunmen, how they loss their homes and livelihoods and called on government to also come to their aid.
The distributed items included; bags of rice, beans, maize, salt, seasoning cubes and clothings.
Kaduna state government had in October 2018, imposed a 24 hour curfew following the killing of the first class chief in Kajuru, Agwom Adara, Dr. Raphael Maiwada Galadima which was one of the attacks Kajuru experienced.
