The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN has agreed to pay workers full salary for the month of May.
The Management of FAAN had on the 19th of this month, in a memo informed its staff that due to the dwindling revenue of the agency, they would be paid half salary and the balance paid when revenue improves.
The reversal of the earlier decision comes on the heels of the meeting held with the unions on Thursday comprising, the Association of Nigerian Aviation Professional, ANAP, National Union of Air Transport Employees, NUATE, Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, ATSSSAN and National Union of Pensioners, NUP.
Announcing the reversal, the unions in a joint statement say all airport workers will receive full payment of their salaries in the month of May.
The unions had in a letter addressed to the Managing Director FAAN requested a meeting be call within 24 hours to discuss the matter or face industrial unrest.
