Emir of Daura urges compliance with COVID-19 guidelines

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar has urged Nigerians to cooperate with the federal and state governments as they take measures to contain the pandemic in the country.

He made the call at a news briefing at his Katsina residence following his discharge from the Federal Medical Centre where he had been in isolation for the last ten days.

The Emir expressed appreciation to the Katsina State government for the attention accorded him and other COVID-19 patients in different isolation centres in the state.

He also thanked people of the state and other Nigerians who prayed for his recovery, and urged them to continue to pray for other patients across the country.

Alhaji Faruq Umar said deployment of trained medical personnel to handle COVID-19 cases by Katsina State government was a step in the right direction.

The 89 year old Emir also urged Nigerians to continue to observe preventive measures against the virus, particularly at community level.
