The Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Healthcare Professionals, FCTA Chapter has given a notice of strike to the FCT Administration over its failure to resolve contending operational issues affecting JOHESU members in the Federal Capital Territory.
A statement by FCT JOHESU Chairperson, Mrs Deborah Yusuf lists some of the issues being agitating for to include irregular payment of salaries from January, 2020, non-payment of accrued promotion arrears for 2016, 2017 and 2018 and delay in the release of conversion and proper placement in career progression of members.
It explains that the union had earlier proposed to withdraw service on the 18th of last March over the same issues but decided to shelved the strike due to the ravaging Covid 19 crisis and the intervention of the leadership of the House of Representatives.
The statement regrets that all the promises given by Federal Captital Territory Administration to address the issues at that time has not been fulfilled uptill now.
According to the statement, the JOHESU members in Abuja therefore resolved that their members, including those in the Frontline service in the fight against Covid 19 would be recall from duty and proceed on industrial action by the 28th of this month if their demands are not met.
