Bandits attack 4 villages in Katsina

Armed bandits have attacked Mabai village in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State killing two persons.

Spokesman of the state police command, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the attack to newsmen in Katsina.

He said the deceased, Sada Musa and Kabiru Muhammad were buried by residents in the wake of the attack.

Residents told Radio Nigeria that the attackers, who were about eighty, rode on motorcycles armed with rifles as they carried out the attack.

Also, bandits have carried out similar night raids on Dan-Nakwabo, Katsalle and Madobi villages also in Kankara Local government area with no reported casualties.

It would be recalled that recently the Katsina State police command had confirmed similar attacks on three villages in Safana, Danmusa and Dutsinma Local Government Areas where forty-seven people were killed.

Residents told Radio Nigeria that the attacks are a violation of the terms of the amnesty pact which the state government entered with the bandits last year.
