The Governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano has directed all civil and public servants in the state, including primary and secondary school teachers to resume work on Monday, 4th of May, 2020.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, says Pupils and students should still remain at home and follow Anambra Teaching on Air through ABS radio, ABS TV and ABS online platforms.
It urges all workers in the state and residents to procure protective face masks as it is now compulsory in Anambra State.
It stresses that workers and visitors will not be allowed access into the state secretariat and other government offices without wearing of face masks.
The statement appeals to all to always observe strict personal hygiene protocols by washing of hands regularly for twenty seconds each time, use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, maintenance of physical distancing guidelines of six feet between people.
It calls for avoidance of hugs, kisses and handshakes as stipulated by the World Health Organizations and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
It also states that these protocols must be followed at public gatherings which should not exceed thirty persons.
According to the statement, places of worship should follow these strict personal hygiene protocols before and during worship, vigils and other forms of religious night worship are not allowed this time.
“Congregants are advised to disperse immediately and not wait around after religious service.
Market places, restaurants, bars, bus stops and all other such public places must also observe the strict personal hygiene protocols.
Families are encouraged to bury their loved ones as soon as death occurs, not more than thirty persons should attend the burial and the guidelines on social distancing and wearing of face masks must bestrictly observed.
It directs Ndi Igwe, Presidents General of Town Unions, Community Leaders and Law Enforcement Agencies to ensure that the above guidelines are strictly complied with and enforced.
