The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC has vowed to support all states of the federation in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state minister of of Petroleum, Timpre sylva stated this in Kano when he lead management of NNPC who presented equipment and materials to Kano state government to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Mr Timpre Sylva said since the inauguration of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, the NNPC And partners in the Oil and Gas Industry embarked on an initiative covering three areas.
The minister explained that the areas includes, provision of medical consumables , deployment of logistics and delivery of medical infrastructure and donating critical medical equipment to the Rivers State COVID-19 Isolation center.
“NNPC are distributing the following items, one Toyota Ambulance, two full kit ventilators, one Smit rescue ventilator, ten thousand nose mask, five thousand hand gloves, among other things.”Mr Sylva stated.
Mr Timpre sylva added that NNPC had made a total commitment NNPC of twenty one billion Naira.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje said his administration was taken all necessary measures in curtailing the spread of the virus in the state.
He said government had establish three modern Isolation centres to address cases of coronavirus in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje noted that with the high population of Kano state, the need for additional testing center in Kano was necessary.
The governor assured the minister and the management of the NNPC that all the items presented would be used judiciously.
