The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar has urged people of Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State to obey government’s stay-at-home directive aimed at preventing spread of the virus in the area.
He made the call at a meeting with community leaders to review the level of compliance with the lock down imposed on the area following three incidents of Covid-19 in Daura.
The Emir urged Imams and ward heads in the area to keep vigilance and report any breach to the security agencies to ensure total compliance with the directive.
Meanwhile, a medical team deployed by the state government has fumigated the streets of Daura in a bid to disinfect the town of airborne particles of the virus.
Governor Aminu Bello Masari had directed the state’s Emergency Response Committee on Covid-19 to liaise with the National Center for Disease Control to contain further spread of the virus in the state.
