Borno begins decongestion of IDP camps

Borno state Deputy Governor and head of the COVID-19 response team, Umar Kadafur

Borno State government has commenced decongestion of Internally Displaced Persons camps as part of measures to prevent outbreak of Coronavirus in the state. 

Borno state Deputy Governor Alhaji Umar Kadafur made this known in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

Umar Kadafur who is also the Chairman High Powered Committee on the Control and mitigation of Covid-19 said this is in addition to restricting entry into all the twenty three official camps in the state.

The Deputy Governor commended the people of the state for complying with the preventive measures put in place by the committee. 

He stressed the need for improved hygiene practice among the citizenry. 

Kadafur said inspite of the humanitarian challenges, Borno state government has put in place palliatives to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on vulnerable people.
