Lockdown: Adamawa residents appeal for assistance

In Adamawa, residents want the state government to provide a palliative for hardship faced due to a lockdown order.

Governor Umaru Fintiri had on March 30 announced a lockdown to prevent COVID-19 from spreading to the state. No case has been recorded.

Radio Nigeria’s Abdullahi Tukur reports that neighbors are sharing food items amongst themselves, but that it may not last long due to shortages of basic commodity.

Mr Benjamin Moses said, while the government tried to solve a small problem, referring to the coronavirus, it ended up creating a big problem for the people.

The virus has killed 4 people and infected 210 in Nigeria.

Globally 61,671 have died with over 1.5 million affected.
