COVID-19: Former CBN Governor Soludo donates N10m

A Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and member of the Economic Advisory Council to President Muhammed Buhari, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has donated ten Million Naira (N10M) to the Anambra state government to support its efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state.

In a statement signed by the state Commissioner for information and public enlightenment, Mr Don Adinuba Sunday says the donations follows the appeal by the state government to individuals to complement government efforts at preventing the spread of covid 19 in the state.

It also states that Professor Soludo promised to mobilize his friends locally and internationally to donate needed medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE) such as facial masks, protective clothes for care givers.

According to the statement, the Secretary to Anambra state government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu who received the donation thanked Professor Soludo for his kind gesture and called on the people of Anambra to partner the government to contain the spread of the pandemic.

“On behalf of His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano who is also the Chairman of Anambra State COVID-19 Action Committee, I thank Professor Soludo, ezigbo onye Anambra for the donation and his pledge to support the state government’s COVID-19 efforts in other areas”.

The statement also appeal for more donations adding that although there is no case of coronavirus in the state yet but government is taking proactive measures.
