Ondo State has closed its borders to Ekiti, Edo, Osun, Kogi and Ogun states over the COVID-19 global pandemic.
The closure takes effective from 6 0’clock in the evening on Thursday, April 2.
A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo, says the decision was taken after observing the possibility of the disease spreading into the state.
The closure of the border would ensure no vehicular movement would be allowed into the state from any of the neighboring states.
Commissioner for Information explained that a monitoring team with the support of security operatives has mobilized to ensure enforcement that the directive is followed to the letter.
The state government, therefore, urges the people to use this period to stand firm in prayer to stop the spread of the pandemic.
