Following the recent outbreak of COVID-19 in Nigeria, the Israeli government has evacuated Two hundred and seventy-four of her citizens from Nigeria to Israel.
A statement signed by the the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Shimon Ben- Shoshan, says the Israelis were being evacuated to Tel Aviv, on board Air Peace Boeing 777-300 from the Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, Abuja.
It expresses gratitude to the Nigerian government and Air Peace, for granting Israeli request to evacuate her citizens, following the lockdown of the nation’s airspace.
“It is an historic flight being the first time any airline will fly directly to Israel from Nigeria over sixty years of Diplomatic Relationship”
According to the statement the Executive Secretary of the Christians United for Israel Prayer Outreach Nigeria, CUFI, Rev. Samson Ozovehe expresses optimism that this gesture done to the Israeli government will further strengthen bilateral ties between the two Nations.
It also adds that the Interim National Coordinator of CUFI in Nigeria, Evangelist Mati Acka, commended both the Federal government and management of Air Peace for a great job well-done.
She stress that in the heat of the pandemic Christians should use the sit- at -home to study the scripture and pray for God’s intervention.
