Former President of French football Diouf dies of COVID-19

Former President of French football club Olympique de Marseille, Mababa Pape Diouf has died, aged 68 after contracting COVID-19.

Olympique de Marseille announced the former president’s death via its Twitter handle

The late Diouf a Senegalese journalist was best known as the club’s president between 2005 and 2009 when Marseille finished second in Ligue 1 twice and reached two French Cup finals.

Netizens have continued to expressed their grief as a result of the death via the Twitter handle of the club.
