Kwara state government has announced a total shut down of all its land boundaries to prevent the spread of COVID-19 into the state.
Deputy Governor and Chairman of the state Technical Committee on Prevention of Coronavirus, Mr Kayode Alabi made the disclosure while briefing Newsmen in Ilorin.
Mr Alabi said the committee will soon fashion out modalities to commence the distribution of palliatives to the residents to alleviate their sufferings.
Other measures adopted by the state government includes fumigation of markets and other public places and provision of commuter buses to ease movement of those on essential services with strict adherence to the rules on social distancing.
The Deputy Governor also advised those sharing food items from house to house to desist from such act to guard against the spread of COVID-19 in the process.
