Fayemi imposes dusk to dawn curfew in Ekiti

Governor kayode fayemi of Ekiti state has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew for two weeks commencing from tomorrow the 30th of March.

Also the Governor has ordered the immediate closure of state borders as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus to save the lives of the people..

In a state broadacst, Governor Fayemi noted that the curfew was in pursuant to the quarantine act laws of the federation,adding that anyone found violating the orders risked heavy fines or six month imprisonment..

Governor Fayemi said only essential workers with Valid office identity cards would be allowed to move freely during the period..

He also prohibited commuters transport, motorcycles and tricycles services except those rendering essential services,while movement between local govts,towns and villages and communities were affected with the new order…

The Governor said Ekiti food bank would be reactivated to provide foods items for the poor and vulnerable, while stipend would be considered as palliative for the self employed to cushion the effect of the curfew..

He told residents that government had commenced disinfection of major public places, stressing that a second isolation centre would be established to enable government manage the health of patients suffering from the disease.

The Governor who advised residents to follow all the precautionary measures as earlier directed by government noted that task force would continue to ensure total compliance.
