Nigeria’s infection jumps from 81 to 89

The number of cases of coronavirus has risen to 89, after 8 new cases were discovered on Saturday afternoon.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC confirmed the figure in a tweet, in its latest update.

7 new cases recorded in Lagos, which is the epicentre of the virus in the country and 1 in Benue state.

The state government continues to take drastic measures to curb the alarming spread of the virus, including fumigating public spaces.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on Thursday approved N10bn for the State and N5bn for NCDC, to intensify preventive measures.

The presidency remunerated other actions taken to contain the infection.

As of March 27, 3 cases have been discharged with one death recorded.
