Bauchi govt takes measures to curb COVID-19

As part of measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus, the Bauchi state government has directed all markets across the state to close down operations by Thursday 26 March 2020, except food items sellers and Supermarkets selling essential products.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on Media, Mukhtar Gidado explains that filling stations, pharmacies and bakeries would also remain opened and adhere to the.

It urges the state council of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, to direct its members to adhere strictly to social-distancing directive by boarding not more than three persons per vehicle.

The statement assures people of the state of government commitment to towards enhancing the capacity of medical personnel to deal with Lassa Fever and covid-19.

It calls on the citizens to report any suspected case to the nearest health facility and provide essential information to the State Health Emergency Response Committee for prompt action.
