Army, Army wives establish new hospital

The Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Associate, NAOWA, has established a new hospital in Asokoro, Abuja for Civilian and military use.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai who took a tour of the facility in the hospital was impressed with the state of the art equipment and gave a go ahead of the immediate use of the hospital.

The hospital know as The Army Command and NAOWA hospital construction started in 2017 and has Retired Major General Ikechukwu Okeke as the Chief Medical Director. General Okeke said the opening of the hospital came at the right time when more facilities are needed to help address the health challenge ravaging the world.

He said the hospital will carryout health education and necessary precautionary measures to protect staff and patients.

Some of the facility and unit in the hospital include Cancer screening services, Radiology with digital X-ray, children unit maternity and general health services with over eighty patient bed space.
