Nasarawa gov’s wife seeks assistance to end Tuberculosis

Wife of Nasarawa State Governor, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi has solicited the support of government at all levels and corporate organizations to end Tuberculosis and Leprosy in the state.

Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi made the call at a news briefing to commemorate this year’s World Tuberculosis Day in Lafia.

The state First Lady noted that considering the devastating effects of Tuberculosis there was need for concerted efforts to end the disease.

She commended the media for playing active roles in awareness creation to avoid practices that would expose the people to contracting the disease.

The First Lady who is the Tuberculosis Ambassador in the state added that she would use her Pet Project , Silifat Abdullahi Sule Hope Foundation to galvanize support to combat Tuberculosis and Leprosy.

The state Commissioner for Health Mr Ahmed Yahaya said the state government had budgeted over 20 million Naira for management and control of tuberculosis.
