COVID-19: Nigeria receives medical supplies

Nigeria’s share of the Medical supplies donated by China’s Jack Ma Foundation to 54 African countries to fight the Coronavirus pandemic was flown into Murtala Mohammed International airport Lagos today b an Ethiopian Airlines Freighter.

The aircraft landed today at Lagos Airport at 3.20 PM to deliver Medical Supplies.

Officials of the airline took delivery of the medical supplies and dropped in an airport Warehouse. The Government team is expected to collect the supplies later.

In a statement, the airlines General Manager, Firihiewot Mekonnen says the airline is pleased to deliver these much needed critical medical supplies and equipment which will help in the global fight against the COVID-19.

She said Ethiopia has supported Africans in good and challenging times and in this unprecedented global pandemic, the airline will continue its commitment for African people to help them fight and win this invisible enemy.

“Today, we are very happy to deliver this medical supplies to the Government and people of Nigeria.”

Ethiopian Airlines has always Stood by Nigeria in times of Good and Bad. Since we started flying to Lagos we have not stopped Our Flights even When Abuja Airport was Closed we Were the Only International Airline that flew to Kaduna.”

“We are happy to Associate with Nigeria and it’s people.”.

The donor, Jack Ma, is a Chinese business magnate, investor and politician.

He is the co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, a multinational technology conglomerate.
