The Nigerian Airforce has restated its commitment towards the aggressive infrastructural renewal in all its engineering units for effective service delivery.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Baba Abubakar stated this while declaring open, a two day Air Engineering Conference in Kaduna.
Represented by the chief of policy and plans, Air Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao, the Air chief explained that a number of platforms in its inventory are undergoing reactivation and will soon be re-injected back to service to boost its counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations.
He noted that the frantic efforts of the federal government to adequately equip the military are already yielding results.
The Air chief described Air Engineering as the bedrock of aviation that involves the performance of tasks required to ensure the continuing airworthiness of aircraft and armament systems.
He maintained that the success of the force depends on the air engineering speciality, tasked with ensuring aircraft readiness for deployment at any time.
Earlier, Chief of Aircraft Engineering Air Vice Marshal Misbahu Olatunji said the conference is being held to examine the achievements made so far and fashion out ways to propel the force to greater heights of self-reliance in aircraft engineering for enhanced airpower delivery.
The conference has as its theme: Building capacity for self-reliance in Aircraft/Armament Engineering for enhanced Airpower delivery in the Airforce.
