Thousands of people have witnessed the Grand Finale of Argungun Fishing Cultural Festival in Kebbi state.
Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Birnin Kebbi reports that about fifty thousands fishermen participated in the finals of Argungu fishing cultural festival.
During the grand fishing final, Abubakar Ya’u from Augie local government area emerged the first position with a heavy fish of seventy-eight kilograms.
The second position goes to Bala Yahaya Bagaye also from the same local government area and the third position was won by Mai Wake Sani Silami.
Senate President, Ahmed Lawal, described the Argungu fishing cultural festival as historical event that unite Nigerians and its neighbouring communities.
He donated five million naira to the fishermen who participated in the grand final fishing cultural festival.
The Senate President use the occasion to reaffirm the commitment of the National Assembly to facilitate provision of resources to the Nigerian Armed forces to protect the lives and property of Nigerians.
