The Imo state police command has arrested a gang of suspected kidnappers for the abduction and subsequent murder of Mrs Comfort Okoro, the wife of a traditional ruler in Uratta, Owerri North LGA of the state.

Parading the suspects in Owerri, the Public Relations Officer of the Command Mr Orlando Ikeokwu said the suspects collected four million naira ransom after the victim died in their custody but were apprehended in the process of collecting additional one million naira from the family.

He explained that the alleged coordinator of the gang was facing trial in Owerri prisons for a different crime from where he masterminded the operation, noting that the command has concluded arrangements to pick him up from the prisons to aid investigations.
