The police in Nasarawa State have arrested 35 persons for committing various offences such as banditry,kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms.
Briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Lafia,the commissioner of police in the state, Mr Bola Longe said 12 persons were among the suspects arrested for alleged involvement in the kidnap of a permanent secretary in the state who has regained freedom.
Mr Bola Longe stated that the 12 suspects were arrested within the area the permanent secretary was abandoned.
Also paraded was a woman who was arrested in Shabu area for alleged conniving with kidnappers to abduct her neighbour for ransom.
Mr Bola Longe pointed out that the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
Among the items recovered from the suspects were seven AK 47 rifles, seven locally made pistols and guns,police and army uniforms.
