SERVICOM urges medical centres to prioritise life-saving

SERVICOM National coordinator Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli presenting evaluation report of 14 FMCs to Permanent secretary, ministry of health, Mr Abdulaziz Mashi in Abuja.

The National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akejemeli has called on Federal medical centres in the country to give priority to the saving of lives without unnecessary delay.

She made the call at the formal presentation of SERVICOM compliance report of 14 Federal Medical Centres to the Ministry of Health in Abuja.

Mrs Akajemeli explained that medical practitioners must deliver satisfactory healthcare to their patients.

She said the ultimate purpose of the exercise was to ensure citizens are served through the provision of services in government ministries and agencies.

The Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Ministry of Health, Dr Abdullahi Garba narrated how he lost a relative in FMC Nguru in Yobe state due to lack of equipment in the hospital.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mr Abdulaziz Mashi reminded the medical directors that healthcare services must be delivered without compromise.
