Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in Gurku, Karu area of Nasarawa state have called for Empowerment and Skills acquisition for them to cater for their needs.
The Camp Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Adawara made the request while receiving Gift Items from a delegation led by a School Proprietor, Mrs Maria Warebebe to mark Valentine’s day with the IDPs .
Our correspondent reports that Items distributed included Toiletries, clothes and food items.
The Camp otherwise known as interfaith IDPs Camp established six year ago has population of about two thousand occupants including forty widows.
The Camp Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Adawara explained that majority of People migrated due to insurgency from Adamawa and Borno States.
Mrs Adawara thanked the group for the gesture, appealed to government and well meaning Nigerians to help members of the IDPs on Vocational works.
The leader of the Delegation, Mrs Maria Warebebe said the gesture was aimed at sharing love of the Valentine with the IDPs.
Mrs Adawara who promised to empower any member of IDPs whose has interest in ICT, urged government to strengthened Security across the Country in the interest of the nation.
She said” Government need to find lasting solution to Insecurity because as I am seeing these Children here, I’m devastated seriously.”
Israel Ademuyiwa and Treasure Adefajo who were among the Students that presented gifts to the IDPs promised to show kindness and love to the less privileged.
