Kano state has received over three million doses of the Polio vaccine from the Primary Healthcare Development Agency
Kano state government says there has been no reported case of polio in the state in the last 64 months.
The Kano state commissioner for health Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa stated this during a media briefing on the preparation for the forthcoming monthly polio immunization exercise in Kano
He said the state had recorded tremendous success in the fight against Polio in all the forty-four local government areas of the state.
The commissioner described polio as a highly infectious disease that causes paralysis within hours,hence all possible measures were implored in ensuring total eradication of the disease.
He explained that the ministry has trained 30,000 personnel for the conduct of the exercise which targets over three million children of 0-59 months
