The Federal Government has filed fresh charges On Monday against former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, arraigned Adoke before Justice Binta Nyako at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The former AGF is being charge alongside his co-defendant, Aliyu Abubakar on six-counts charges bordering on money laundering and criminal diversion of funds in the Malabo oil deal.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges, the EFCC counsel, Bala Sanga, urged the court to remand the defendants in the commission’s custody pending the hearing of the matter.
However, counsel to the defendants urged the judge to dismiss the anti-graft agency’s request and grant them bail.
