The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a bill for the establishment of the State Erosion, Watershed and Climate Change Agency.
Lawmakers took turns to make corrections in sections of the bill before it was finally passed at plenary.
The Speaker, Mr Uche Okafor, who conducted a voice vote on sections of the bill before passage, directed the Clerk, Mr Pius Udo to forward a copy to Governor Willie Obiano for assent.
According to the bill, the Agency will be empowered to tackle erosion, watershed and climate change. It is expected that it will also lure international donor to fund and assist the state to address environmental challenges.
