Nigerians have been told to respect each others’ culture and tradition with a view to enhancing national cohesion.
The Oba of Benin, Omo N’oba N’edo Uku Akpolokpolo Ewuare II made the call at a Mini Durbar organized in his honour by the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar in Bida.
The visit of Oba of Benin to the palace of Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar brought together prominent sons and daughters of the Bida Emirate in Niger state.
The occasion was graced by different traditional troupes of Nupe Land and those of Benin Kingdom accompanied by mini Durbar.
The Oba of Benin who is the Edo state chairman council of traditional rulers stressed the need for people to always accommodate one another.
He restated his commitment to sustain the long standing relationship between the two kingdoms in an effort to improve socio-economic development of the people.
The Etsu Nupe And chairman, Niger state council of traditional rulers Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar called for understanding among different ethnic groups to promote unity and peace in the nation.
Etsu Yahaya Abubakar who appreciated his royal visitor said such avenues were capable of keeping the Nation as one indivisible entity.
