A philanthropist in Nasarawa State Dr Simon Dolly has donated clothes and food items to over 200 widows and orphans in the state.
Presenting the items at the State Orphanage in Lafia, Dr. Simon Dolly called on government at all levels to focus more on programmes aimed at carrying along vulnerable members of the society.
Dr. Dolly also stressed the need for the state government to commence implementation of the child rights law as part of measures to check the rising cases of child abandonment in the state.
He expressed concern over the conditions of most of the orphans,especially those that were seen without shoes on their feed at the State Orphanage Lafia.
Dr Simon Dolly who pointed out that the gesture was to mark his forty first birthday anniversary said as an orphan, he knew the pains of suffering which according to him, was the driving force behind his desire to touch lives.
