FILE PHOTO: Former NSA Sambo Dasuki and others arraigned over misappropriation at the FCT High Court in Abuja
Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki made his first court appearance after his release from detention in December 2019.
He appeared before Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday.
He is being tried for money laundering and illegal possession of firearms.
Dasuki was arrested over multi-billion dollar slush funds that emanated from his office as National Security Adviser meant for the fight against insurgency and was alleged to have ended up in politicians’ pockets for matters unrelated to security.
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami ordered his release in December 2019 after spending about 4 years in SSS custody.
