Reactions have continued to trail the defection of nine lawmakers from the Action Alliance, All Progressives Grand Alliance and the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress in the Imo state house of Assembly.
The Secretary of the PDP in the state Nze Ray Emeana said the party was not worried over the development as it still controls majority seats in the legislature.
He noted that the few PDP lawmakers who moved to the ruling APC were not elected under the platform of the PDP and expressed the confidence that the core PDP members in the house were committed to the party.
Nze Emeana said while the PDP is optimistic in upturning the supreme court ruling which invalidated the election of chief Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of the state the party will play a robust opposition role to the government.
The National Organizing Secretary of the APC Chief Emma Ibediro who was on ground to receive the lawmakers who defected to his party commended the legislators for their solidarity to Governor Hope Uzodinma.
Chief Ibediro urged the State House of Assembly to support the new administration in the state to enable it actualize its lofty ideas.
