Federal Government has stressed the need to prioritise science and technology in the education curriculum for the rapid development of the country.
The Minister of State Science and Technology, Alhaji Muhammed Abdullahi stated this at a reception in honour of members of Class 84 of Government Secondary School Uke, Karu, Nasarawa State.
Alhaji Abdullahi who is an Alumnus said Science and Technology must be emphasized in our schools if the nation must build a globally competitive human capital that will industrialize the country.
The Interim President of Class of 84, Mr Muhammed Atiku said as part of effort to ensure the school was placed on a part of excellence they have identified various projects that would be executed in the school.
A member of the class and Special Adviser to the Nasarawa State governor, Hajiya Jamila Sarki who advocated better girl child education, promised to ensure stakeholders do more for the female gender in the state.
The event featured performance from the students of the school.
