Wife of the Kwara State Governor, Mrs. Olufolake AbdulRazq has urged parents to pay more attention to the activities of their children to prevent them from indulging in the act of drug abuse.
Mrs AbdulRazaq made the call when members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Officers Wives Association in the state paid her a courtesy visit at the Government house in Ilorin.
She said only through proper monitoring, that children can be protected from the menace of drug abuse and other social vices in the society.
Mrs AbdulRazq urged parents to teach the children good morals to enable them overcome the influence of pear groups.
The leader of the Nigeria Security and civil Defence Corps officers wives association in Kwara state Command, Hajiya Fatima Inno Isah-Ale said the objectives of the association was to support the families in the training of the children as well as engaging them in vocational skills acquisition.
