Imo gets new Police Commissioner

Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has ordered the appointment and redeployment of Mr. Fafowora Olaniyi as a new commissioner of police for Imo state. 

A statement from the Public Relations Officer Imo State Police Command Mr Orlando Ikeokwu said the new CP takes over from Mr Rabiu Ladodo who has just retired from service. 

He said CP Olaniyi who hails from Osun state, until his appointment was in charge of Counter Terrorism Unit Force Headquarters Abuja.

The statement further revealed that the new CP who enlisted in the Force in 1986 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police holds a bachelor of science degree in political science.

He is the thirty fifth substantive Commissioner of Police in Imo state.
