Over 50 people have died in a car bombing in Mogadishu the Somalia’s capital according to police.

The blast took place at a checkpoint at a busy intersection in Mogadishu with many others having varying degrees of injuries, in the explosion on Saturday morning.
A local Radio station, Dalsan cited the Mayor, Omar Filish, as saying that university students were among the dead.

The station posted photographs on Twitter which it said showed the wreckage of vehicles and damaged buildings at the scene.
An eye witness, Sakariye Abdukadir spoke on the blast said, “all I could see was scattered dead bodies … amid the blast and some of them burned beyond recognition.”
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb blast.
