A 27year old lady, Faith Oteshe and her two sons, Daniel and Dominion as well as her younger sister, Jumai died from mudslide while asleep at lsheri area of Magodo, following the heavy downpour in Lagos over the weekend
Bearly four years after mudslide killed a family of four, the same tragedy has again strock at the same place
This time, it is the house next to the last one where the family of Mr Godwin Odia was killed.
The Landlord of the house, an inspector of police, Victor Ovierloba from Edo state said he was at work when he received a call at about 4am from his daughter about the incident.
Inspector Ovieroba blamed the death on the bad attitude of the residents who always channel their cwage to the community
The daughter of the Landlord, Omonye Ovienloba, who said she tried her best to rescue some of the victims, narrated how it happened
Some of the residents while blaming government for not providing infrastructure for the community, also accused residents of Magodo phase1 of channeling their cwage to their community
The team leader of the Red Cross Society, Mr Steven Briggs from kosofe local government who was seen attending to some of the injured victims, said they were on ground to help ameliorate the situation.
The mother of the four sons that died four years ago wept profusely, accusing
government for not doing anything to save the Isheri Magodo community from those who are causing the problem of mudslide in the area.
Radio Nigeria correspodent visited the Lagos state university teaching hospital (LASUTH) to see the deceased husband, Mr Emmanuel Oteshe to ascertain how he was faring, but was told he was asleep.
Effort to get the baale of the community and some residents of Isheri Magodo to comment on the incident proved abortive
The two children and their cusine were buried yesterday at isheri while their mother who hails from Benue state has been taken home for burial.
