The Acting. Registrar-General, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Lady Azuka Azinge says the Commission has recorded milestones and landmarks in business registration in the country in line with global best practices and enabling business environment.
Lady Azuka Azinge stated this during a news Briefing in Abuja.
According to her, the Commission recorded several achievements in the last two years under her watch.
She explained that the commission successfully implemented the Business Incentive Strategy (BIS) under which cost of registration of business was reduced by 50% to enable MSMEs formalize their businesses.
She said over 200,000 Business Names were registered.
During the Press Briefing which coincided with her 2nd anniversary as Ag. Registrar-General of CAC, Lady Azinge said they settled in 2013, 9% salary increment arrears that arose from a tripartite agreement between the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, CAC and the Union.
Other achievements include complete decentralization of all State Offices operations, full closure of Manual Registration nationwide and deployment of online real time pre-registration services to all state offices through the Company Registration Portal (CRP),
While commending the existing cordial relationship between the Media and the Commission, she appealed to the media, as stakeholders to enlighten the public about the enormous benefits of the online registration and the reduction in cost of business registration.
According to Lady Azinge, the ultimate goal of the Commission is to make the CAC a World Class Companies Registry providing excellent registration and regulatory services.
