Kaduna State Labour Congress has expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the new minimum wage to workers.
State Labour chairman, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suileman in an Interview with Radio Nigeria congratulated the workers and State Government for the development.
Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suileman explained that with the consequential adjustment on workers wages,the Governor had proved to be a Man of his word.
He appealed for more synergy between labour unions and the State Government, stressing that Union leaders are key stakeholders especially on issues that relate to workers welfare.
He asked aggrieved workers on the minimum wage implementation to forward thier complain to the appropriate authority for onward action, adding that Labour on its own would take it up with the office of Head of Service.
The State NLC chairman said the complained already arising from the payment of the new wage depicts that the process was not the product of negotiation with Labour.
He appealed to the State Government to address lingering issues of payment of some disengaged workers from Local Government, Teachers from competency test and some state workers.
Radio Nigeria correspondent who went round some ministries in the state observed happiness in the faces of the workers as a result of the wage increase, and Zuiberu Bello on Grade level 10 who got about twenty six thousand Naira to his forty thousand monthly salary was delighted of the development.
