The House of Representatives has resolved to call on the Federal government to urgently direct the Ministry of Works as well as the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA to repair the Benin-Warri road.
This followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by the Minority leader of the house Mr Tony Elumelu during plenary.
Mr Elumelu said the road is in a terrible state of disrepair, causing accidents that leads to loss of lives and properties.
The mover of the motion commended the governor of Delta state for using his state’s resources in repairing some part of the road.
Contributing to the debate, a member from Enugu state stressed the need for intervention in Road’s infrastructure.
The house also resolved to write a commendation letter to Delta State governor for his magnanimity in repairing the road.
