House of Representatives has resolved to call on the Federal Ministry of Works and housing to make provision in the 2020 budget for the dualization of the 252km Wudil-Kari high way in Bauchi State.
The resolution followed a motion sponsored by a member from Bauchi State Alhaji Kani Abubakar Faggo, on the floor of the house.
Alhaji Kani Abubakar explained that Wudil-Kari high way which ought to be veritable routes for socio-economic sustenance of local governments surrounding the area has been in diplorable condition.
The lawmaker also appealed to the executives to direct the federal ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to make provision in the 2020 budget for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of rural roads in Bauchi State for enhanced commercial activities.
He equally, advocated the rehabilitation of a 73-kilometre Gwaram to Misau federal road in view of its deplorable state and the number of innocent lives lost through avoidable accidents and hoodlums attacks on motorists and their valuables.
Mover of the motion expressed worry that maintenance work commenced by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency FERMA in 2017 has been abruptly abandoned for an inexplicable reason.
Most of the lawmakers who contributed on the motion during a debate advocated urgent action on the matter in the interest of humanity.
