The Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority NEPZA, says four out of the newly approved free trade zones will be operational soon.
Briefing newsmen in Abuja, the Acting Managing Director of the Authority, Mr Terhemba Nongu said the zones when completed would give employment to three hundred and fifty Nigerians.
He also explained that activities were already ongoing at the free trade zones in the FCT.
According to Mr Terhemba Nongu, the centenary city which is one of the free trade zones is not one of the inactive zones in the country.
In 2015, after the change of government, some issues on land ownership at the centenary trade zone arose, but stated that the matter has since been settled and commercial activities were ongoing at the zone, Mr Nongu noted.
The acting managing director added that operators of inactive trade zones would have their licenses revoked if activities do not begin before the end of next year.
