Kogi State Chapter of the Social Democratic Party, SDP has staged a protest at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters in Abuja, insisting that the Commission should accept its replacement for the post of its Deputy governorship candidate.
INEC had allegedly rejected the deputy governorship candidate of the party on the ground that he was underaged.
Addressing newsmen at the INEC headquarters, the Governorship candidate of the SDP, in Kogi State, Mrs Natasha Akpoti said they would not leave INEC until the replacement of its deputy governorship candidate Mr Adama Ogbede is effected since they met the deadline yesterday.
Mrs Natasha Akpoti urged INEC to give all the candidate a level playing grand to participate in the election.
In a reaction, the Chief Press secretary to the INEC Chairman Mr Kayode Oyekanmi said the last day for the submission of nomination forms by political parties is second October.
He added that it is premature at this stage to insinuate that INEC has disqualified any political party.
