Police restates commitment to curbing crime

The Zamfara state command of the Nigeria Police force has reiterated its commitment to fighting crime and criminals to ensure adequate security of lives and property of the citizens.

The command Public Relations officer SP Shehu Muhammad restated this while parading a Syndicate of suspected thieves who specialized in snatching motorcycles and tricycles

He explained that the Suspects were allegedly inserting drugs in Drinks and serve their victims to fall asleep and run away with their vehicles

Mohammed Shehu said the Suspects who were arrested following a complaint received from one Hajia Suwaiba Residing in Abuja who called and reported the snatch of her tricycles in Abuja and hinted that they were moved to Zamfara State

The Suspects were Aminu Muhammad Male of Kano State; Ar-Rabiu Sani, male; Mohammed Dahiru, male both of Nassarawa State; Rabiu Adamu, male and Sani Lauwali, male both of Zamfara state while two other Suspects are at large

Items recovered from them include Two Brand New Keke NAPEP; One Motorcycle; Substance of cocaine; fake invoice receipt and a piece of sweet

In a related development, another gang of thieves who specialized in House break and theft were also intercepted

They are a Retired police officer, Junaidu Abubakar and Junaidu Aliyu and Sale Ibrahim who were accused of receiving stolen properties

Items recovered were Three Plasma TV, One Cotton, Three measures of rice and sixty-five thousand Naira cash

SP Shehu Muhammad said the Suspects will be charged to court for prosecution as soon as investigations are concluded
