Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has appealed to the federal government as a matter of urgency ensure timely completion of the Lokoja-Okene road to ease the hardship motorists faced.
He made the call while travelling on the road to Okene his country home.
The Governor who was caught up in the gridlock which has become a frequent occurrence described the road as an eyesore.
He said the company handling the project was incompetent and appealed to the federal government to attend to the road.
Governor Bello appealed to motorists some of whom have spent two days in the gridlock to be patient saying the minister of works and housing would have to do something urgently to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
