A non-profit security firm, Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires, is set to provide employment for ex-servicemen willing to earn additional income to argument their monthly pensions.
To this end a verification exercise had commenced for old and intending members to update their database, to ensure accurate information of all members in the outfit.
The corps which comprises of retired Nigerian Navy, Army and Air Force have all directed their formations across the country to begin circulating forms for interested persons to join the new outfit.
Corps of Commissionaires was modelled after the British Corps of Commissionaires and other similar establishments across the Commonwealth.
It was part of President Buhari’s administration effort to provide meaningful employment for veterans of the armed services and curtain security challenges of the country.
Speaking at the forum, the Deputy Corps Commandant Edo North Division Umoru Joseph said the verification exercise became necessary to capture detailed information of all members, especially as President Mohammadu Buhari is set to commence payment of their salaries.
He advised interested members of the public to register with the firm to benefit from these opportunity.
