President Muhammadu Buhari is to participate at the passing out parade of Army sixty-six regular, Navy and Airforce sixty-seven regular and Army short service course forty-five cadets in October.
Deputy Air Vice Marshal Isma’ila Sadiq Kaita said at a press briefing on Wednesday that 630 cadets are to be commissioned, out of which, 179 are members of the 66 regular course, while 272 belong to the short service course.
He said members of regular course sixty-seven comprising of eighty-nine Naval cadets and ninety Airforce cadets will proceed to their respective services for further training before commissioning.
He highlighted activities that would precede the passing out parade, as approved by the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade, to include a medical outreach program at Dankande community, golf kitty exercise, prize giving and beating of the retreat ceremony.
At the medical outreach on Thursday at Dankande community in Kaduna, the NDA pledged to sustain its corporate social responsibility to neighbouring communities for continued mutual co-existence.
Commandant of the Academy, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade this was in fulfillment of the academy’s continuous role to impact positively on the lives of residents.
He assured that serious ailments that requires medical attention would be referred to the academy’s medical facility for further treatment, free.
He also pledged to renovate a block of two classrooms in the community.
In a remark, village head of Dankande, Mallam Musa Abdul expressed gratitude to the NDA, and pledged to reciprocate the gesture.
Some of the services rendered includes distribution of treated mosquito nets and wrappers for elderly women, writing materials, clinical, dental, eye, laboratory, nursing, and pharmaceutical services.
More than One thousand people will benefit from the medical services.
