President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, to proceed on an indefinite leave.
A statement by Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, WIllie Bassey says the leave is to allow the conclusion of investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, over alleged financial fraud by Oyo-Ita.
He said the President has also approved the appointment of Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan as the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, there’s also been an approval of the extension of the tenure of seven retiring Permanent Secretaries for one year.
“The decision of Government to extend the tenure of these Permanent Secretaries is to ensure the new Ministers are properly guided, briefed about their sectors and to ensure that a solid foundation is laid for the delivery on the Presidential Mandate, Bassey added in the statement.
